• What is B.Sc.CSIT?
BSc.CSIT is a 4 years (eight semesters) course offered by the Institution of Science and Technology, TU. It is regarded as the best subject among other existing computer and IT course. Aiming to produce competent professionals and skilled IT manpower capable to fit in the market internationally, CSIT has got the internationally designed best course composition.

• Is this course’s credit transferable?
Yes, it is. It is universally recognized.

• Is there entrance to join this course?
Yes, you need to appear an entrance test conducted by IOST and secure at least 35% to be eligible.

• I appeared IOE’s entrance exam and passed, Can I join this course with the entrance score of IOE?
No. appearing entrance exam conducted by IOST is mandatory, you must pass the entrance.

• Is the IOST entrance easy?
There is nothing like easy and hard, if you have good preparation, you know the course, and if you have the knowledge from +2, the entrance exam will be easy for you.

• .I am waiting for the result of grade 12, can I still apply?
Of course, you can apply with the results of grade 11.

• I failed in grade 11 exams and this year I appeared grade 12 exams, and I am waiting for grade 11’s result too. I am sure that I will pass grade 12 exams. Can I join?
Sorry, you must pass grade 11’s exam to join. Anyways, you can try after you get your results.

• What do I need to appear entrance exam?
SLC's mark sheet photocopy along with character certificate and +2’s transcript(mark sheet) or grade XI mark sheet if you havenot got the transcript of grade 12.passport size photos(2).

• Who can apply?
Those who have at least 45% score in I.Sc, +2, A level or any boards recognized by TU in science background can apply.

• How to apply for B.Sc.CSIT?
Applicants need to appear in entrance examination conducted by Institution of Science and Technology.

• What kind of jobs we can get in after studying this course????
After completing your studies you can work as Developers, Network Admin, System Admin, Researchers, Mobile app developers, Computer system Analysts, Teachers, Consultants, IT officer and also in government jobs. • What is the scope in Nepal?
Scope of CSIT graduates is rapidly increasing in our native market. Our market lacks the supply of skilled manpower in IT sector ranging from private companies to government bodies, in this context if you are capable then no doubts you can establish easily here.

• After studying BSc.CSIT can we find the job?
Certainly, there is no such thing that you cannot find job. Please refer to more questions above for types of job you can get. Besides this u can open IT offices or be programmers or web designer and do many brilliant projects on your own. You can light this world.

• What is fee range for BSc.CSIT in private college?
There is no specific price range. But in constituent campuses its around 2 lakhs and from 3.5 to 9.5 lakhs in private colleges.

• Is there scholarships?
There are no predefined schemes in constituent campuses but you might get in private colleges.

• Which subject I need to choose, BSc.CSIT or Computer Engineering to be a good programmer???
Here, BSc.CSIT focuses both on hardware and software field, being specific CSIT is better for programmer as it is more concentrated in programming.

• Is BSc.CSIT equivalence to Engineering???
Knowledge gained by engineering and CSIT students might be equivalent but the governing body hasn’t defined this two courses as equivalent.

• Can I study this subject by doing part time job also?
It depends on you, if you can manage time then you can. But remember you must have 80% attendance to appear TU’s board exams.

• It is theoretical or practical based?
As per the objectives CSIT is both a theoretical and practical based course, which gives equal  priority to practical approaches. Theoretical and practical classes are carried side by side.

• Can we write Engineer (Er.) in front of our name after completing?
Sorry, you cannot.

• How much girls study CSIT?
Haha, we cannot specify the number but frankly saying as this is technical subject the number is relatively low. But the good thing is this; the craze for IT subject is rapidly increasing.

• May I know the details on Entrance and Admissions procedure?
Educational Qualifications: Students who have secured at least 45% in I.Sc 10+2 or from any boards recognized by TU are eligible to study this course. However, students who have passed grade 11 exams and waiting for grade 12′s result can also apply.

Entrance form distribution: Entrance form can be filled from any B.Sc CSIT’s constituent campuses or affiliated colleges. When TU’s entrance form is filled from any college, student need not fill the same form from other colleges. Same form is applicable and accepted in all colleges. However some private colleges may require you to fill their internal form to join the respective college. Some colleges may take internal tests apart from TU’s entrance exam. Remember that TU’s entrance exam is mandatory to join CSIT.

• When is the entrance exam?
Entrance date and time: 2071 Bhadra 11th, 11am to 1pm (2hours)

• Form where can I get the admit card?
After submitting the form, it will take some days for admit card to be in your hands. Can be collected from the institution where you filled the form. College will inform you regarding the date or you may contact the college self.

• What is the form charge?
Nrs 1000(TU), internal college’s form fee may vary.

• What is the full mark of entrance?
Entrance exam will be of 100 total marks.

• What type of questions will be asked?
All objective type questions will be asked.

• Which subject to prepare for entrance?
Objective questions from I.Sc/10+2(or equivalent) will be asked from the subjects English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics ; 25 marks from each subject.

• What is the pass marks?
To pass candidates must score at least 35% score of the total marks. (i.e 35 is pass marks) Model questions of the entrance exam can be collected form any CSIT campuses/colleges, you can download from our site too, click here to download.

• When will the new class start?
First semester’s Class Commences on: 25th Bhadra 2071BS
